Sharp hosts winemaker dinner

Feb 21, 2012 - 09:35 AM

In celebration of Back History Month, the Community Café is offering a winemaker dinner with Vance Sharp, president of the African American Vintner's Association and owner of Sharp Cellars. The event takes place Friday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m.

The menu will be inspired by the cuisine of the South, with each course paired with a Sharp Cellars wine. It begins with shrimp gumbo and pinot blanc, followed by mushrooms stuffed with Sharp’s own Hawaiian Portuguese sausage and a pinot noir. The main course is braised short ribs over cannellini ragout with braised greens with bacon paired with a zinfandel. The meal ends with a chocolate cherry croissant bread pudding and an organic zinfandel.

The cost is $39.95 including wines.

Reserve by calling 938-7779.
