Shakespeare’s magical romantic comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” returns to Buena Vista Winery with three weekends of shows set for Aug. 9 to 12, 16 to 19 and 23 to 26.

Jean-Charles Boisset, new owner of Buena Vista Winery, has graciously welcomed Sonoma’s own Avalon Players to present its 32nd season of bringing Shakespeare’s works to the Sonoma Valley in the newly renovated Buena Vista courtyard.

Returning to the stage this year under the direction of Kate Kennedy is the ever-entertaining Bob Smith, a proprietor of Sonoma’s famous Murphy’s Irish Pub, in the hilarious role of Bottom. Kathryn Del Chiaro will bring her own unique smile and voice to the fairy queen, Titania; Spencer Rank is Oberon and Nathalie Tedrick is Helena, who will be joined by a bevy of adorable fairies to enchant audiences of all ages.

The magic ensues as it portrays the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a rustic group of amateur actors, their interactions with the duke and duchess of Athens, the feuding fairy king and queen and their fairy subjects who inhabit a moonlit forest.

This Shakespeare under the stars experience offers picnic table seating. Showtimes are 7 p.m.; with seating beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $25 a person available at brownbagtickets.com and Readers’ Books in Sonoma.

I know that this was a submitted photo and I like everything but the nude(?) child in the back. Call me an old lady, but I think it's a bit inappropriate...just saying.
