Sebastiani goes ‘Psycho’

Just in time for Halloween, the famed thriller “Psycho” will be screened at the Sebastiani Theatre as apart of its Vintage Film Series #5. The film can be seen Monday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m.

  The 1960 thriller was directed by the master of the psychological drama, Alfred Hitchcock, and stars Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh and Vera Miles. Leigh plays a woman on the run who winds up in the Bates Motel one rainy night, but never checks out.

  Patrons are invited to “dress in the era” for this and all upcoming classic movie screenings in this  Vintage Film Series #5. Wine by the glass will be offered for sale at Monday evening showings. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the screening. Admission is $8.

  The Sebastiani Theatre is located at 476 First St. E. in Sonoma. To order tickets in advance for individual film screenings, call 996-9756. 

  The fifth Vintage Film Series runs through December. Other films include:

   • “Cool Hand Luke” on Monday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. Directed by Stuart Rosenberg, the 1967 film stars Paul Newman, George Kennedy and Strother Martin.

  • “The Sound of Music” on Monday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. The 1965 musical was directed by Robert Wise and stars Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and Eleanor Parker.
