Schools seek parents for focus groups

Apr 9, 2012 - 07:20 PM

The Sonoma Valley Unified School District is looking for parents to be a part of the strategic planning process.

Focus group meetings will be held in the Sonoma Valley High School library.

The Spanish-speaking group will meet on 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12; while the English-speaking group will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14.

The focus groups are part of the strategic planning process. They will provide the opportunity to talk more deeply about some of the issues raised in the parent surveys as well as other issues of importance to parents and to the district.

The groups will last about 1.5 hours. All the groups – but especially the Saturday groups – will start and end exactly on time.

To ensure the quality of the discussion, groups will be limited to 12-to-15 parents so everyone who comes has a chance to participate.

Any comments made in these groups will be summarized and not attributed to any individual. Participation will be confidential

The school will not be able to provide childcare for these groups

To reserve a spot, call Principal Dino Battaglini at 933-4030 or email dbattaglini@sonomavly.k12.ca.us or, Community Liaison Sherry Anderson at 933-4029 or email sanderson@sonomavly.k12.ca.us.
