Sassarini students create permanent treasure

Nydia Navarrete, Kanchi Sherpa and Travis Martinez (left to right) are three of the Sassarini Elementary School students who last year worked with teacher Morgan Garcia (at left) on this new piece of artwork on permanent display in the school office. Thanks to a grant from Plein Air, fourth- and fifth-grade students had the opportunity to borrow cameras and take colorful photos of their choosing around campus. Garcia then used a photo collage program and had the results printed on aluminum boards by Bay Photo Lab.
