This past weekend, as good sports that we are, we took part in a sampling marathon of great wines, delicious bites and meeting wonderful people. Welcome to VinOlivo!
The weekend started with the Grand Tasting at The Lodge at Sonoma. A great opportunity to sample the bounty that the Valley has to offer; delights from vintners and chefs; including Greg Nemrow (Audelssa), Lauren Benward (Beltane Ranch), Todd Harbron (Café 522), Ramona Nicholson (Nicholson Ranch), the Morphys (Red Grape), Andrew Cain (Santé), Catherine Venturini, (Olive & Vine). With a glass of wine in one hand and a plate in the other, we visited with CeCe Ponicsan, Daryl Ponicsan, Mark Crisler, Terry Crisler (Sotherbys International), Lesli John, David Burt,
We did take a break from the crowds to attend the Idell Family Vineyards’ Winemaker Dinner. Graciously hosted by Richard and Denise Idell and accompany by food by Sheana Davis of The Epicurean Connection.
The weekend could not be complete with a visit to some of the Valley of the Moon’s tasting rooms; Chateau St. Jean, Kenwood, Muscardini Cellars, Ty Caton Vineyards, Wellington Vineyards, to name a few.
Now we need a holiday of rest. Cheers!
