SONOMA LIFE - Cinco De Mayo
Sonoma Life
The cultural richness of our Valley is one of the outstanding characteristics of living here. Not only do we celebrate all the national holidays, we also take time to celebrate all those other important food, wine and music events in our community.
We try, very hard, to partake in all these celebrations and support them. You must be feeling sorry for us about now… maybe not.
Who knew that this weekend would be such a busy time; our first stop was the Robledo Family Winery for their Cinco de Mayo fiesta. An afternoon filled with wine, delicious Mexican food prepared by Maria Robledo and accompanied by the music, song and dances from Mexico.
Later we visited Julie Schindler and Brian Larsen’s tropical paradise of a home for their first annual The Run of the Roses – 138th Kentucky Derby party. Let it not be said that Sonomans don’t dress up for the occasion; Carolina Salmonsen (Pacific Union International), Robert Edgar, Andrea Valo-Espina and many others looked smashing.
Sunday we were at the kick-off gathering for Broadway Under The Stars, Transcendence Theatre Company’s summer concerts series at Jack London State Park this summer. Amy Miller, Brad Surosky and birthday boy Stephan Stubbins, welcomed their guests and thanked them for supporting their musical quest and helping to keep our historic park open.
Food, wine and music; a match made in Sonoma!
