SCC to expand ceramics studio program

Sep 13, 2012 - 06:36 PM

The Sonoma Community Center announced the expansion of its ceramics open studio program this week. Beginning Monday, Oct. 1, the center’s ceramics open studio program will become a membership-based program, designed to provide enhanced benefits to SCC members, local and visiting artists, students and professionals in the community.

For the past 20 years, the center’s ceramics studio has served the needs of beginning and advanced students throughout Sonoma Valley. Beginning in October, the center will expand its open studio schedule and offer ceramics membership holders unlimited access to the studio during scheduled open studio hours.

As an added  bonus, participants may receive creative and technical help from onsite studio assistants.

Ceramics members will also enjoy access to firings, a personal storage cubby in the studio and a 20 percent discount on eight-week ceramics classes (excluding workshops).

A variety of membership options are available: $75 a month, six months pre-paid at $65 a month and pre-paid annual memberships equivalent to $60 a month.

A daily drop-in rate of $15 is also available, ideal for those who’d like to try out the studio or are unable to commit to a membership.

While ceramics class registration will no longer include free open studio use, the center will honor existing studio cards through February of next year.

For more information about the ceramics membership program, call the Sonoma Community Center at 938-4626, ext. 1, visit the main office or go to sonomacommunitycenter.org.

The Sonoma Community Center is located at 276 E. Napa St. in Sonoma.

The Sonoma Community Center exists to enrich the lives of Sonoma Valley residents by fostering a broad range of cultural, educational, and community services and by the preservation of its historic building.
