Rotary’s $100K donation

Members and staff of Sonoma Community Center, Rotary of Sonoma Valley and Sonoma Theater Alliance celebrated a community-driven match of the Rotary’s $100,000 Challenge Grant issued by the club nearly a year ago. Rotary President Vicki Whiting (center) gets ready to present the check to community center board President Brock Arner as Jaime Love, director of Sonoma Theater Alliance looks on. Hundreds of community members contributed to the match earmarked to transform Andrews Hall into a professional performing arts venue, and Sonoma Theater Alliance donated $40,000 in theater seating as well. Additional fundraising continues for the project and construction will begin January 2013.
