Reserve electric charger space for electric cars
Editor, Index-Tribune:
I wish to thank the City of Sonoma for installing two electric charging stations in the public parking lot off East Napa Street. We drive an electric car and we charged the car while attending the Sebastiani Theatre a few days ago.
However, we have tried to use one of the stations on three other occasions and all the parking spots were taken by non-electric cars. One charging spot is also a handicap parking space, so we couldn’t use that one. Is it possible to restrict use in at least one charging parking space for plug-in cars only?

I agree wholeheartledly. I will purchase a fully electric vehicle (or Chevy Volt) by 2014. I am currently drivjing my 2nd hybrid car and am ready to jumo further into electrically powered transportation with both feet. Hopefully, there are significant #'s of people ready and willing to take the next step, as well, if the technology is constantly in the news in city upgrades, new power stations in more handy locations, and more affordable cars. This is going to happen!
