Remembering Kathy Krempely

Mar 8, 2012 - 05:19 AM
Dunbar second-grader Chelsea Young hands out daffodil bouquets Thursday during a celebration in honor of Kathy Krempely, a second-grade teacher who died on her way to school on Feb. 14. Kathy Krempely’s husband, Dennis, left, watched the giveaway as each of the second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-graders received bouquets from the estate of Margaret Adams of Cloverdale. The idea was Chelsea’s after she heard about Adams who stipulated in her will that the daffodils be picked and given away. Dunbar Principal Melanie Blake said the event came together in a few short days as Chelsea’s way to honor and remember her teacher. There were 160 bouquets, each with 18 daffodils, given away.
