Red & White Ball set
THE VIP FARM TO TABLE dinner at last year’s Red and White Ball, a benefit for the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation.
The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation will again be hosting the Red and White Ball, which this year takes place on Saturday, Aug. 18, to benefit the public schools of Sonoma Valley. The ball will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Sonoma Plaza, with music by Dave Martin’s House Party.
During the event, guests will dine on treats from the Sonoma Valley School Gardens and Sonoma Valley wines. As if the dancing, food and wine aren’t enough, the winning raffle ticket for the Fiat Pop will also be drawn at this year’s event.
“This is one very special evening where our entire community comes together in the heart of our town on behalf of our local public schools,” said SVED Executive Director Laura Zimmerman, “The wine, food and music will be even more outstanding this year. We are super excited about the Red and White Ball 2012.”
Ticket reservations are required for entrance and there are three tiers of tickets for those looking to join the celebrations.
The VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner is a party within the party at $150 a person. A sumptuous farm-to-table feast including all locally produced food, with some specially grown treats from the Sonoma Valley School Garden Project, plus fine wines and dinner prepared by Chef Chris Ludwick of Grapevine Catering. The ticket includes reservations at the private table.
The Picnic Party is $75 a person and comes with a reserved spot at one of the beautiful communal tables and a delectable barbecue buffet, cooked on site by master chef “Big Jim,” who is known for his cooking classes and events throughout the Bay Area.
The Dance Only D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) Zone is $25 a person is for those just looking to dance. Those who purchase this ticket are encouraged to bring their own table and dinner and join the party out on the dance floor.
Everyone who attends the Red and White Ball will need to purchase tickets in order to be a part of the festivities.
Parents, teachers and community members are all welcome to volunteer for the event, to help make it a big success this year. Volunteers can sign up by contacting the foundation at 935-9566 or tina@svgreatschools.org.

All proceeds from the Red and White Ball will be invested in local schools.
