Raceway’s Thanksgiving Food Drive underway
The raceway in Sonoma is hoping to set new records, not for speed, but in canned goods contributed to its Thanksgiving Food Drive. Through Monday, Nov. 19, the raceway will be collecting donations of non-perishable foods to benefit Friends In Sonoma Helping (FISH) and the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks for the holiday weekend.
“We are determined to provide everyone in need with all the makings for a wholesome, home-cooked holiday meal,” said Paul Ash, executive director of the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks. “In order to meet the demand, the food bank relies on the support of the community. We are truly grateful for the donations given through the food drive.”
The raceway’s food drive has generated more than 37,500 pounds of food since its inception in 2001, including nearly 10,000 pounds in 2011.
Non-perishable food items for the Thanksgiving Food Drive can be dropped off at the following locations:
• The raceway, 29355 Arnold Drive.
• Sonoma Market, 500 W. Napa St., Sonoma.
• Glen Ellen Village Market, 13751 Arnold Drive, Glen Ellen.
• Destination RKA, 930 Shiloh Road, Building 41-C, Windsor.
