Preservation group seeks nominees for awards
In keeping with its mission to identify, preserve and promote the historic architectural character of the City of Sonoma and its surrounds, the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation requests nominations for the 35th annual Preservation Awards.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 14. There are three Preservation Award categories: restoration projects, adaptive reuse and creative design of historic sites and new construction compatible with the historic character of the area. In addition to projects, nominations will be accepted for individuals who have made significant contributions to further historic preservation and craftsmanship.
The awards committee, chaired by Barbara White Perry, will introduce the winners at the league’s annual meeting. The festive evening includes a PowerPoint presentation of the properties, wine and appetizers. The public and press are invited to attend Nov. 14 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Stone Hall at Vintage House senior center, 264 First St. E., Sonoma.
A nomination form can be obtained by calling the league at 938-0169.
