Polishing it up

Oct 15, 2012 - 08:18 PM
Dan Heddy polishes Jack Strehl’s T-28 Saturday during the annual Family Fun Day at the Sonoma Skypark Airport on Eighth Street East. There were numerous classic planes on display along with some classic cars and trucks. The annual event drew hundreds of onlookers. Attendees could also bid on silent auction items and could chat with the four candidates for the Sonoma City Council and the two candidates for the 1st District Supervisorial seat. Family Fun Day acquaints the community with the many services offered by the airport’s volunteer pilots while benefiting two nonprofit groups in the area – the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance and Skypark’s Air Explorer Post #1268 for young people interested in aviation.
