In Sonoma, Phyllis Cecelia Tynan Payne, died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2012. She was 93. A native of San Francisco and a longtime resident of Sonoma, she was born on May 7, 1918. Phyllis was a 30-year resident of Oakmont and longtime member of Star of the Valley Church.
Phyllis is predeceased by her devoted husband, John M. (“Jack”) Payne; by her loving parents, Frank and Rose (McClory) Tynan; and by her beloved siblings, Frank Tynan, Lois Deasy, O’Day Robertson and William Fox.
She is survived by her children, John (Lynn, deceased) Payne, Thomas (Peg) Payne, and Barbara (Christopher) Wood; dear sister of Joan (John) Sharp; loving grandmother of Christina (Clay) Bonavito, Janice (Ralph) Echenique, John (Janet) Payne, Douglas (Urjita) Wood, Matthew (Stacey) Payne, and Kate Payne; great-grandmother of Tanner, Caden, Tomas, John (“JJ”), Sara Lynn, Inika, Kailash and Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
Donations may be made, in her name to Hospice By The Bay, 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Larkspur, CA 94939.
