Photographs of Cuba displayed at winery

Nov 21, 2012 - 11:42 AM

Nicholson Ranch will be hosting the artwork of Jack Hamilton through Feb. 21, in the winery’s Overlook Gallery. The work, “Cuba Revisited” will be welcomed with an opening reception on Friday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 6  p.m.

Hamilton first went to Cuba in 2006 with his family and then returned in 2009 on his own to photograph the colorful and fascinating island full of its warm vibrant people, rich culture and incredible music.

From the streets of Old Havana to the tobacco plantation towns of Vinales, he has searched to capture that spirit and beauty that makes this captivating island a destination for adventure seekers.

His images range from cigar smoking Cuban divas to the patinas found on the relics of Spanish colonial architecture.

The images are Giclee prints printed on canvas and gallery wrapped around sturdy frames as well as more traditional matted prints. His images can be found at JackHamiltonPhotography.com and he is represented by the Pez Gordo Gallery in Los Cabos, BCS.

The winery is located at 4200 Napa Road. For more details, call 938-8822 or go to nicholsonranch.com.
