‘Penne for a Song’ set for Saturday
SVHS Band
Aptly named “A Penne for a Song,” the Sonoma Valley High School music department is back with its pasta feed fundraiser to support music in education. The community event takes place Saturday, April 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Sonoma Valley Moose Lodge.
The event will begin with a no-host cocktail hour from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a pasta dinner complete with salad, a meat side dish and bread. There will also be a silent auction, raffle and live music provided by the student musicians in the band, choir and Jazzberries. The night ends with the decadent “Grand Finale of Italian Desserts.”
Funds raised during the event will go toward music department, expenses, such as paying for travel to the annual Heritage Festival, a competition for school musicians. The high school participated in the festival this year, competing against more than 70 other schools, and walked away with three silver medals and a bronze medal.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children 8 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Readers’ Books, Sonoma Valley Music or Pharmaca, or at the door. This year’s event is being organized by Macy Crawford-Roberts as her senior project. For details, call her at 266-2171.
