Four Sonoma alums playing college soccer
After standout prep soccer careers at Sonoma Valley High School, four graduates have moved up a level and are currently competing for their respective colleges, and in some games against each other.
Sarah Semenero, who’s been playing basketball on an athletic scholarship at Cal Poly Pomona, and has been a major on-court contributor, is now playing soccer at Pomona.
Two other former Lady Dragons are also stepping up on the soccer fields, with Ellie Ceja playing for San Francisco State University, and Bryana Robles is on the Sonoma State University squad.
During a recent weekend, Semenero and Cal Poly Pomona first faced Ceja at San Francisco State, and then they played Robles and Sonoma State in Cotati.
On the men’s pitch, SVHS alumnus Riley Clark is also playing for San Francisco State University and recently returned to Sonoma County for a match at Sonoma State University.
It should be fun following these four standout Sonomans furthering their college soccer careers in both the north and south parts of the state.
