Olympian, NCAA champ at Sonoma Aquatic Center, Vintage Run

SONOMA AQUATIC CENTER is hosting the Fitter and Faster Swim Tour – featuring three-time Olympian and NCAA champion Kara Lynn Joyce, and one of world’s top Distance Swimmers and 2012 Stanford graduate, Chad LaTourette – from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 15. THE VINTAGE RUN – a 5K-race and fundraiser for Sonoma Valley High School’s cross country and track and field programs – will take place during the Valley’s Vintage Festival weekend at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, starting and ending at Sebastiani Winery’s parking lot. SONOMA’S ST. FRANCIS Solano’s CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball program for third- through eighth-grade boys’ and girls’ teams is currently holding 2012-13 season registration for all returning and new players. Mandatory evaluation and tryout days are slated for Sundays, Sept. 23 and 30 (one day required), with practices beginning Monday, Oct. 17, and games starting the weekend of Dec. 3. New players need to provide a copy of their birth certificates with their sign-up forms and fees. Cost is $145 for first child and $100 for additional family members.
