New exhibition opens at guild
The Arts Guild of Sonoma (AGS) is launching a new exhibition of work by guild member artists. The exhibition runs from Oct. 3 to 22 at the AGS gallery on 140 E. Napa St. in Sonoma.
The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m.
It offers a chance to meet the artists and fellow art patrons, sample local wine and nibbles and view a variety of art, jewelry, sculpture and more.
The Arts Guild of Sonoma, located right off the historic Sonoma Plaza, is a contemporary art gallery with changing monthly exhibits showcasing the work of local artists.
Opening receptions are held on the first Friday of each month and exhibit pieces in acrylic, encaustic, oil and water color paintings, jewelry, mixed media work, ceramics, metal sculpture, smaller objets d’art, prints and note cards.
The guild was founded to exhibit and advance the creative efforts of local Bay Area artists. Founded in 1977, the guild has solidified its status as the oldest, continuously operating artists’ collective in the state.
Admission is free and gallery hours are Wednesday to Monday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
