Capping off their upbeat and satisfying Sonoma County League season at Monday’s SCL championship tournament with a third-place tourney finish at the Oakmont Golf Club’s East Course in Santa Rosa, the Sonoma Valley High School girls’ golf team claimed an overall third-place in the final standings.
Leading the Lady Dragons, as she has done all season, was senior Jordann Dagner, who fired an 18-hole round of 90 at the tourney and, for the second straight year, earned a trip to the challenging North Coast Section Qualifying Tournament, which takes place this Monday, Oct. 22, at the Deer Ridge Golf Club in Brentwood.
Following league champion Analy in the final SCL standings were Healdsburg, Sonoma, El Molino, Petaluma and Piner.
Along with Dagner, the third-place Lady Dragon golfers were also paced by junior Jacquie Peterson’s solid 94, senior Allison Cogbill’s 108, freshman Callie Hogan’s 108, and senior Barbara Hodgkinson’s 112.
Rounding out the Sonoma girls’ golf team – directed by longtime head coach Tom Hickerson and assistant coach Scott Dagner – are juniors Leigh Jensen, Chelsea Krause, Erica Larson and foreign exchange student Bulan Setiawan; and sophomore Paige Knef.
