Stephan Stubbins, executive director of the Transcendence Theatre Company, which is producing “Broadway Under The Stars” in the old winery ruins at Jack London State Historic Park, hosted a scavenger hunt with mentors and mentees from the Stand By Me Mentoring Program.

Stubbins, along with several actors from the troop, organized an adventure that took place in Jack London State Park.  Mentors and mentees explored the museum and park grounds in search of historical information that incorporated some acting and singing along the way.

It was an energetic two hours before the group finished their tasks and gathered back at the House Of Happy Walls to watch a video of the day’s activities.

All participating mentors and mentees were given tickets to “Fantastical Family Night,” which featured music from “The Little Mermaid,” “Peter Pan,” “Annie,” and more. Mentee’s Jason and Juan, both of whom attended the “Fantastical Family Night,” agreed, “We had a blast.  The comedians were so funny!”  The winning scavenger hunt team won VIP tickets to the performance of their choice.

The day ended with a picnic in the park. To learn more about the Stand By Me Mentoring Program, go to sonomamentoring.org, or call 996-6843.
