Mentoring Alliance hosts Thursday workshop

Jan 30, 2012 - 05:37 PM

The Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance is hosting a community workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, for adults who work with girls.

Kidpower, the nonprofit leader in “People Safety Skills” for children of all ages, presents this tailored workshop.

Mentors, parents, educators, administrators and community members are invited to attend and learn ways to help children and teens learn and use age-appropriate “People Safety Skills” on an everyday basis to have safer, more positive experiences with people, including strangers, siblings, peers, co-workers and other people they know.

Adults will learn how to help children and teenage girls become a strong advocate for themselves, and navigate through life in a positive, confident manner.

The Kidpower for Adults only workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Little Theater on the Sonoma Valley High School Campus.
