Marie-Therese Galut

  Marie-Therese Galut, 84, died at home in Sonoma on Jan. 23, 2012.

  She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Galut; adored mother of Marie-France Richards (John), of Sonoma, Michelle Blanc (Ron), of Santa Rosa,,Suzanne Karachewski (John), of Walnut Creek and Andre J. Galut (Marie), of Sonoma; loving grandmother of Meagan, Erin, Ryan, Maddi, Michael and Paulie.

  She is survived by her brother, Michel; and sister, Andree, in France, and many other relatives.

  Marie-Therese was born May 15, 1927, in Onet L’Eglise, Aveyron, France.

  She and Paul met in 1947 and married in 1949, before immigrating to San Francisco in 1950. They worked side by side for more than 40 years in the hotel business before retiring to Sonoma in 1994. Therese was a homemaker and excellent cook who loved spending time with family and friends and caring for her flower garden. She will be fondly remembered for her laughter and warm hospitality.

  A vigil service was held at Duggan’s on Thursday, Jan. 26.

  Friends are invited to funeral services on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Duggan’s Mission Chapel and thence to St. Francis Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
