As usual, Sonoma County residents get first dibs on specially priced tickets to the fifth annual Sonoma Wine Country Weekend, set for Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 and culminating with the lavish Harvest Wine Auction.
These “locals” tickets are now on sale, a full month before tickets go on sale to the general public. “We recognize that some of the events on the schedule tend to sell out rather early. The chance to purchase tickets early is also a nice benefit for, and one way we can thank, the people in our community who support us year after year,” said Maureen Cottingham, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend co-executive director.
Locals tickets to Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch are $75 ($150 general) while tickets to the Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction at Chateau St. are $350 ($500 general).
To obtain the discount, residents of Sonoma County can go to www.sonomawinecountryweekend.com and use the promotion code “LOCALS” and their Sonoma County zip code at checkout. A maximum of four specially priced tickets is allowed per address.
Produced in partnership by the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Foundation and the Sonoma County Vintners, the 2012 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend event also features the Sonoma Starlight Supper Club at Francis Ford Coppola Winery and an assortment of winery lunches, dinner parties and barbecues throughout Sonoma County.
Proceeds from Sonoma Wine Country Weekend support Sonoma County nonprofit organizations; to date a cumulative total of more than $11 million has been donated directly to Sonoma nonprofits by the local wine community through this event.
