Littlest scholars

There was another important graduation ceremony taking place at the end of the school year. More than 45 preschoolers received diplomas during a ceremony at Altimira Middle School. The students, all 4- and 5-year-olds, just graduated from an innovative new preschool program that is based at El Verano Elementary School. The El Verano program emphasized kindergarden readiness for students who would otherwise not have any preschool opportunity. The program is funded by the Sonoma Valley Unified School District in collaboration with the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation and generous donations from the Ernest Bates Foundation and The Vadasz Family Foundation.
