Lie factory gets to I-T?

Nov 1, 2012 - 06:39 PM

Editor, Index-Tribune:

I thought the I-T did an excellent job on the proposition endorsements, except for Proposition 37. You had part of it right: “it’s a no-brainer,” and, “Who doesn’t want to know if what they’re eating is genetically modified?”

As a nutritionist, I can say that all major nutritional organizations are “yes on 37” and so am I. Its a small step in the right direction and isn’t business as usual.

We don’t have to wait for some mythical perfect law. Labeling genetically engineered foods is a common sense right that is enjoyed by more than 50 other countries, including China, India, and Russia. But for Americans, that right has been taken away from us. The chemical companies and the junk food companies have done everything possible to hide the truth from Americans for the sake of their profits. Looks like the “lie factory” has gotten to the I-T editors on this one.
