Lady Dragons host hoops Foundation Game tonight

Girls alum volleyball, basketball doubleheader Wednesday

The 2012-13 winter sports workouts for Sonoma Valley High School’s basketball and wrestling teams are currently underway, and the hoops preseason action tips off this evening with the annual Foundation Games.

In tonight’s Foundation Games, the varsity Lady Dragons are hosting Cardinal Newman at 7:30 p.m. in Pfeiffer Gym (6 p.m. junior varsity start), while Sonoma’s varsity boy cagers play Casa Grande in Petaluma.

Then tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Nov. 21, the third annual Lady Dragons volleyball and basketball alumnae match and game doubleheader takes place in Pfeiffer Gym, with the spikers starting at 6:30, and the cagers playing at 8 p.m.

Both Sonoma hoop programs then open the nonleague portion of their regular seasons this Saturday, Nov. 24, with the Lady Dragons playing at Novato; while the Dragon boys host Ukiah in Pfeiffer Gym – the freshmen begin at 4:30, the jayvees play at 6, and the varsity tips off at 7:30 p.m.

Sonoma’s wrestling program continues its workout sessions in the refurbished campus wrestling room in preparation for an early December start, with the annual parents meeting slated for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, at the SVHS Library.
