Kelly Mather is best of the best

  In response to the Sept. 7 letter to the editor from Mark Smith (“Ask employees about Mather”) asking what employees think of Sonoma Valley Hospital CEO Kelly Mather: Mark, Thank you for asking. I am very happy to share my feelings.

  I have had the pleasure to work with six or seven CEO’s in my tenure at Sonoma Valley Hospital. I liked many of them, but they all left for various reasons, as we all know.

  Of all of them, Kelly Mather is the best of the best. There is no doubt that she likes accountable, engaged employees. Her expectation’s are high, with “best practices” always the standard. She is very hands-on, attending department staff meetings routinely and holding employee forums regularly. She is very easy to talk to. She welcomes comments, feedback and questions without censure. The hospital is leaner and cleaner and very well run. She has improved our pay scale and employee benefits package. I’ve been and SVH employee since 1991 and I can’t find anything not to like.
