Kathmandu state of mind

The annual Kathmandu Festival brings the many cultures found in the Himalayas to life, right here in Sonoma at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building. Last weekend, hundreds came out to peruse the marketplace. The festival raises money for the Children’s Medical Aid Foundation, a Sonoma-based nonprofit that raises money to bring life-altering corrective surgeries to children in the rural regions of Nepal, where medical treatment is rarely accessible. In April, the foundation also opened the Chisang Clinic in Bhawanne, Nepal, which can now serve the surrounding population of 30,000 residents. Money raised at last weekend’s Kathmandu Festival will go both towards surgeries and opening more clinics.

Namaste!

Good News for Nepali children! The Festival raised $23,000, enough to provide 100 children with corrective surgery. Children's Medical Aid Foundation. The generosity of our loyal volunteers and the support of local businesses is much appreciated. Macarthure Place, Kirstine Gallery, EDK, Deerfield Winery, Hanzell Vineyards, The Lodge at Sonoma, and Caneros Bistro are just a few of those that ensured the success of The Kathmandu Festival through their generosity.
