Kathleen E. Frapwell, a resident of Sonoma since 1953, passed away early on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
Kay is survived by her spouse of 62 years, Bill, and four children: Ann (Victor) Dominguez, Jim (Zenaida), Larry (Marilyn) and Mary (Lou) De La Rosa. She leaves 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kay was the daughter of Irl and Effie Meredith of Harrisburg, Ark.
After graduating from Harrisburg High School, she received a nursing degree from St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro. Kay enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps and served in the Philippines and Japan. Upon returning to the States, she worked at the VA Hospital in Memphis, and later, Oakland.
Bill and Kay were married in 1949, and the family moved with three children to Sonoma in 1953. Kay worked in Drs. Andrews’ and Craven’s office and volunteered for County Health Services. She was an active member of Sonoma United Methodist Church and FISH volunteer. Kay enjoyed quilting and was a member of Sonoma Valley Quilters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at Sonoma UMC, 109 Patten St.

So sorry to hear the news. I remember how sweet Kay was to all of us at the family reunions at Harvey West Park and at Rosemary Collins house in Santa Cruz.
