Juan Pedro Velez Hernandez
Juan Pedro Velez Hernandez, 32, of Sonoma, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, the result of injuries sustained in an accident on Arnold Drive in Sonoma.
Pedro was born May 23, 1980, in Los Angles and was raised in Sonoma. He was a dedicated family man, cherished and adored friend touching hearts and always making people laugh with his infectious smile and sense of humor.
He is survived by his mother and father, Guadalupe and Joseph Rosas; by his wife, Maria Martinez; his son, Pedro Antonio Hernandez; and three stepchildren, Vanessa, Jasmine and Alex Martinez. He is also survived by his sisters, Anicia (Dan) Astobiza and Sylvia (Joaquin) Martinez; by his brothers, Jose and Angel Rosas; nieces and nephew, Alexa, Sonya, Valeria and Dominic. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special uncles, Manuel and Conrad Hernandez.
He will also be missed by longtime childhood friends, Abel Gonzales Ramirez, Samnang Sophal and many others who he has touched throughout his life.
A Mass was held Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, followed by a rosary at Duggan’s Mission Chapel at 2 p.m.
Interment will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, at 11 a..m. at Valley Cemetery, 425 E. MacArthur St., Sonoma, CA 95476.
A trust has been set up in Pedro’s name for his surviving son, at Redwood Credit Union, 500 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476.
