Jewish winemakers plan tasting

On Sunday, Oct. 28, Congregation Shir Shalom will host its third annual Wine Country Jewish Winemakers Tasting and Nosh from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building at 126 First St. W. 

  This event celebrates the contributions of Jewish winemakers from Sonoma and Napa valleys. Proceeds will underwrite Jewish education and cultural events in Wine Country. Participating wineries include B.R. Cohn Winery, Blue Rock Vineyard, Carelia Kaplan Cellars, Coho Wines, Hagafen Cellars, Halleck Vineyard, Honig Winery, Idell Family Vineyards, Judd’s Hill Winery, Kamen Estate Wines, Leto Cellars, Longboard Vineyards, Mojon’s Bench, Paint Horse Winery, Silver Pines Vineyards, Stein Family Vineyards, Tres Hijas Vineyards, Zmor Winery, Shapiro Cellars, Wake Robin Winery and Paradox Wine.

  The variety of wines served will be paired with gourmet Jewish food. Live music will be provided by Stephanie Ozer, Brazilian jazz pianist, along with music from Shameless and Mama Loshn. 

  Tickets are $40 in advance, $45 at the door, and often sell out. Tickets can be purchased at www.shir-shalom.org/winemakers, Readers’ Books and Tiddle E. Winks in Sonoma.
