James Earl Robb died Feb. 11, 2012, age 63, in Sonoma.
A native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, Jim completed his schooling in Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada.
Jim loved to garden and owned his own hobby greenhouse business, “Little Green Sprout,” in Calgary. He moved to San Francisco in 1985 and after various pursuits, continued his gardening career for 18 years with the Department of Parks and Recreation. In 2005, Jim retired to Sonoma and lived here until his passing. He was a proud resident of California.
Jim was a loving and generous man who had a huge heart for animals, enjoyed traveling and loved Christmas. He delighted his family and friends with his quick wit and endearing sense of humor. Jim’s most precious quality was his love and devotion for his family and friends.
Jim was predeased by his oldest brother, Gary, of Langley, Canada. He is survived by his loving companion, Linda Larson, of San Mateo; his brother Wayne, of Calgary, Alberta; his nephews and nieces, Debbie, Dan, David, Dixie and Marlo and their families; and his many cousins and their families in Canada. He was a friend of Bill W’s for 24 years.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19, at Moon Valley Mobile Home Park, 1001 Fifth St. W., Sonoma, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pets Lifeline Animal Shelter,19686 Eighth St. E., Sonoma, CA 95476; The Institute on Aging, Attention: Patrick Arbore, 3575 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA, 94118 or the charity of your choice.
