Facing longtime rivals in their Sonoma County League openers yesterday, the co-defending champion Sonoma Valley High School varsity volleyball girls returned from Forestville with a four-set win over El Molino, while the varsity soccer boys were nipped 2-1 by visiting Analy on a goal with less than two minutes to play.

Also competing yesterday were the tennis Lady Dragons, who dropped a 6-1 SCL decision to their longtime foe Petaluma at the high school courts.
