Hubartt to display at Epicurean Connection
The Epicurean Connection, at 122 W. Napa St., will share the artwork of Valley painter Deanna Hubartt. The exhibition begins with an opening reception on Friday, Aug. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Hubartt was born in 1974 in Tucson, Ariz., and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended Wheaton College in Massachusetts and received a degree in studio art with an emphasis in photography.
After spending time traveling and living in New York and Detroit she moved to the Bay Area.
The new series of paintings titled “Spiders from Mars” will open at the Epicurean Connection. Hubartt’s watercolor portraits are painted with the actions of geologic force. As she directs the color, liquid inks ebb and flow to create expressively potent figures of ambiguous renown.
