How did Obama fail? Here’s how

Nov 12, 2012 - 02:51 PM

Editor, Index-Tribune:

I realize the Democrats are rejoicing in President Obama’s re-election. However, I would like to point out that Obama’s campaign never tried to defend his record of the past four years.

Instead, the Democrats chose to destroy the reputation of Mitt Romney by running a totally dishonest smear campaign even before Romney became the Republican candidate. Since the president could not defend his record of failure as chief administrator of our country, the only way he could convince people he should be re-elected was to attack his opponent’s character. And attack he did.

But in what ways did Obama fail? Let me mention a few.

No budget was passed during the past four years.

He failed to follow up on his promise to have the most ‘transparent’ administration.

He never made an effort to work with the Republican members of Congress in a way that would be acceptable to both parties.

Obamacare was rammed through the Senate with not one single Republican vote. How’s that for working together for the good of the country?

What incentives did he offer to the private sector to grow their businesses so they could hire more people, which would help to increase the wealth of our country?

What specific ways has he adhered to his oath of office to defend and uphold the Constitution?

Finally, his most recent failure is not explaining to the country about the lack of protection for the U.S. Embassy in Libya prior to the terrorists’ attack that resulted in the tragic death of our ambassador to Libya and the other three patriots on 9/11 this past September.

You forgot to mention that Obama said that no one making
under $250K would see their taxes raised. They did (myself
included) and more tax hikes are on the way.
