Hike Bart Park to aid Overlook Trail

Jun 25, 2012 - 03:42 PM

Bartholomew Park Winery will host a guided hike on Saturday, June 30, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, as part of a joint project between the City of Sonoma and the Sonoma Ecology Center to benefit the Sonoma Overlook Trail.

The hike will take place in the hills behind the winery, over approximately three miles of marked hiking trails. The guide will point out a variety of indigenous California vegetation along the trails such as oak groves, manzanita and madrone trees, redwood-shaded fern grottos and fields of spring wildflowers.

On a clear day, the view from Bartholomew Park’s trails extends to San Francisco.

The hike will be followed by a light lunch and tasting of the wines produced at Bartholomew Park Winery.

The event is limited to 30 people, with a cost of $35 a person. Reservations are required.

For more information, or to make a reservation, call Hope Nisson at 996-5526 or email her at hopedn@sbcglobal.net.
