Health center to hold flu-shot clinic Saturday
The Sonoma Valley Community Health Center will host a flu-shot clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 1, at Vintage House senior center, 264 First St. E.
The health center asks for a $20 donation.
While anyone who wants to reduce their chances of getting the flu should get vaccinated, the Centers for Disease Control recommends especially those at highest risk from complications of the flu receive a shot.
This includes persons 65 years and older; residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities; those with lung or heart disorders or diabetes, kidney disease or weakened immune systems; pregnant women; health-care workers; those who are in close contact with persons at high risk from the flu.
Flu shots will also be available for children 6 months old and up.
