Hateful rhetoric puts down presidency

  What do you mean by “Obama and Saddam Hussein” (Index-Tribune editorial, Aug. 21)? I remember the poster of Obama as Hitler with a black mustache, displayed near the Broadway post office months ago.

  I hope your readers will note the quotation marks around your last paragraph quoting the TeaParty.org pronouncement, “Assault on America.”

  In my opinion, this Presidential campaign of hateful rhetoric promotes a lasting putdown of the office of president of the United States.

  Pity our grandchildren.
