Hanna Center golf classic, Vintage Run, St. Francis CYO hoops
HANNA BOYS CENTER, celebrating its 20th annual Golf and Tennis Classic, recently held the tennis tournament at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, with the popular golf tourney being held this Monday, Sept. 24, at the Sonoma Golf Club. The golf tourney entry fee is $275 a player and includes green fees, cart, privileges on the driving range, refreshments on the golf course, tee-prizes and the awards ceremony. Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m. and includes a brunch at the Hanna campus, with a shuttle provided to and from the golf course, and the tourney gets underway with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. The festivities afterward begin with a hosted cocktail hour at 5 p.m. Anyone interested can sign-up or get more information at the Hanna Boys Center site at hannacenter.org or by contacting Tamara Stanley at 933-2504.
THE VINTAGE RUN – a 5K-race and fundraiser for Sonoma Valley High School’s cross country and track and field programs – will take place during the Valley’s Vintage Festival weekend at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, starting and ending at Sebastiani Winery’s parking lot. SONOMA’S ST. FRANCIS Solano’s CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball program for third- through eighth-grade boys’ and girls’ teams is currently holding 2012-13 season registration for all returning and new players. Mandatory evaluation and tryout days are slated for Sundays, Sept. 23 and 30 (one day required), with practices beginning Monday, Oct. 17, and games starting the weekend of Dec. 3. New players need to provide a copy of their birth certificates with their sign-up forms and fees. Cost is $145 for first child and $100 for additional family members.
