With two weeks of preseason workouts and game-preparations under their collective belts, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity and junior varsity football teams are primed and ready to take the field for their first contact with an opposing team.
The varsity and jayvee Dragon gridders will host Santa Rosa in the annual preseason scrimmages between the two schools at 6 and 7:30 p.m., respectively, tonight at Arnold Field.
Then the Dragons open their regular season by hosting nonleague Redwood on Friday, Aug. 24, at Arnold Field, with the jayvees playing at 5 and the varsity kicking off at 7:30 p.m.
Sonoma’s gridders will continue to face Marin County teams the following two weeks when they travel to Terra Linda on Saturday, Sept. 1, before hosting San Marin on Friday, Sept. 7.
