Girl Scouts host free events
The Sonoma Girl Scouts are gearing up for their annual Girl Scout membership drive will include a variety of free fun events designed to show what potential members what the scouts are all about. Local girls and their families are invited to come participate in a fun activity, meet new friends and sign-up for Girl Scouts.
Tonight, Friday, Sept. 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. will be “S’more Fun for Girls” held in Depot Park on First Street West. It will be a fun evening of roasting marshmallows, making s’mores and other activities.
On Sept. 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. will be “Girl Scout Welcome Party” at the Altimira Middle School multipurpose room. Join all the Girl Scouts in Sonoma for their monthly “scout shout” celebration.
Finally, on Sept. 26, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., “Tennis Fun for Girls” will take place in the Maxwell Park Tennis Courts. The event is co-sponsored by the USTA.
Parents must attend the free events with their child.
Girl Scouts is available to all girls ages 5 to 17, and is flexible to meet girls and volunteer’s schedule through a variety of pathways such as camp, troops and a series of activities.
