Gallery hosts 'Reno Confidential'
“Reno Confidential: All In” will be the fall show for the Doorway Gallery and Artist’s Studio, featuring paintings, ceramics, prints and works in stone by Darryl Ponicsán. The show runs to the end of the year, with an artist’s reception, open to the public, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The entire show is comprised of art inspired by the underbelly of Reno, Nev., which Ponicsán describes as, “...a place where the desperate go to die but stay to soldier on.”
The artist, an award winning author and screenwriter, makes his home in Sonoma, though he admits to loving Reno. “It’s a hotbed of dadaism, known there as ‘nadadada.’ Reno goes wrong only when it tries to be Las Vegas, a city I abhor.”
The Doorway Gallery is located at 254 First St. E.
