I worked for Fred in Chicago. He was District Software Manager and I was a Branch Manager. Fred could be very stern but I learned more from him than any single manager I ever worked for. He taught us it's OK to be tough as long as you are fair. He also taught his Managers how to truly run a business including making us do hours of manual calculations to create a budget when we learned he already had it done based on his "in the head" numbers! It was a great learning experience.

I lost touch with him many years ago and for that I am regretful. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his Family.
