Fifth St. W. safer before bike lanes?
Editor, Index-Tribune:
If safety is reevaluated on Fifth Street West, south of Napa Street, I believe it was safer when it was two car lanes each way. Interesting, with all the many bicyclists that rallied for a bike lane on each side of the street and won, I never see a bicycle riding on either side of the street, and I pass through that area every day at different times. Cars seem confused and its dangerous to manipulate from the car lane into a driveway.
Perhaps the bike lakes are too wide.
