Feeding the hungry

Mickey Horner, left, western regional director for the group Stop Hunger Now, shows participants how to package meals that will be shipped overseas to feed starving children in Third-World countries. About 40 volunteers showed up last Saturday at the United Methodist Church to package 10,000 meals. The event was the senior project of Sonoma Valley High School senior Kelsey Severson. Severson said she raised the $2,500 needed for the 10,000 meals online. The volunteers who helped were friends, family and church members.
