Sonoma spotted Petaluma a 14-0 lead Friday night before coming back to win a 17-14 thriller in the final regular season game for head Coach Mick O’Meara and defensive coordinator Mike Mulas.

But after the first two touchdowns, the Dragon defense stiffened and didn’t allow the visiting Trojans any more points.

Dan Deely scored two touchdowns and Brennan Cole gave the Dragons their margin of victory with a field goal with a little more than four minutes remaining in the game.

The win gives the Dragons a 7-3 overall record and a 5-1 Sonoma County League mark. Sonoma will have to wait until Sunday’s North Coast Section seeding meeting to see who and where they play next.
