Sonoma scored a touchdown as time expired at the half in Friday night’s game at Analy to draw to within a dozen points at 26-14. And it could have been closer if not for two interceptions that Analy turned into points.
The teams traded touchdowns to start the third quarter, but then the Tigers ran off 30-unanswered points and torched the Dragons 63-20 as the clock ran most of the fourth quarter.
Sonoma’s junior quarterback Dan Deely scored two touchdowns on runs of 1- and 4-yards, and he also tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Brennan Cole.
The loss drops the Dragons to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in Sonoma County League play.
The Dragons are off next week and return to action on Friday, Oct. 5, when they entertain new league foe Piner. The game is also Sonoma’s homecoming.
